Continuum BrainStim Health About BrainStim Health

Our partnership with BrainStim Health

Connecting assessment to treatment and functional recovery.

Continuum Occupational Psychiatry and BrainStim Health are collaborating to support recovery from depression, improved functioning and a sustainable return to work.

The collaboration connects Continuum’s treatment-oriented occupational psychiatric assessments with BrainStim Health’s network of treatment centres across Canada. When clinically indicated, claimants can be referred for repetitive or deep transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS/dTMS), including for treatment-resistant depression.

For claimants

A clearer path from assessment to appropriate care.

For insurers and case managers

Clearer treatment direction, coordinated care, and meaningful updates on treatment response and functioning, with claimant consent.

Referrals are based on clinical need, and claimants remain free to choose their treatment provider.

Evidence and functional recovery

Research on TMS has examined outcomes beyond depressive symptoms.

  • Giacobbe et al. (2020) reported sustained improvements in self-reported disability and quality of life following rTMS.
  • Tozzi et al. (2024) found improvements in cognitive control in a subgroup of veterans with treatment-resistant depression.
